Back from Peru

Well we went to Peru. We worked our tails off down in Cajamarca. And despite some stressful palpitations trying to figure out air travel in Peru on Aerocondor, everything went great.

God changed each life that went. I mean, how can your life NOT change after that? We all left a piece of our hearts down there. All I can think about is when can I go back?

If you have never really been on a mission trip, especially one out of the country, go. Just go. Stop debating it. Christ commanded it. Go. So go. Just like you were obedient to follow him in baptism, you must be obedient to follow him to the ends of the earth. It is not a "missionary" job. It is yours, Christian. Go.

If you are interested in going but don't have any avenues to go, give me a call or an email. We will find a trip for you to go on.

And if we go back to Peru in 2007, please consider going. Raise a holy ruckus with your parents. Start saving money now for a personal missions fund. Just tuck some money away each month. Make a goal of saving money to go on mission trips. God will bless it and open crazy doors for you. Trust me. Do it. Pray. Save. Go. Change.

Perugatory?

So tomorrow morning I leave out to fly to Peru for a mission trip. I am anxious and excited.

The great thing about going on mission is you are forced out of your comfort zone and take a huge risk. Which pays off with great and memorable experiences.

The tough thing is working with a missionary. Sometimes missionaries don't really know what to do with teenagers. The two things every missionary in the world thinks teenagers are good at? 1) Children's work and 2) Door to door surveys

So I am excited that in Cajamarca we may get to rub shoulders with teenagers down there. That will be powerful. Of course, anything we do down there will make a huge impact and God will change lives through the process.

I just still have a list of to-do's as long as my arm. So why update?

Cause Dave McLaughlin told me to. And I just checked this off of my to-do list: Make an airplane playlist for my iPod. I needed to get back to reality. I just made a 75 song, four hour playlist of my favorite songs. I should become a DJ and use this playlist as the groovin tunes for a four sock hop! See? I needed a reality break.

Well off to buy some deodorant. Pray for us.
